Terry Colella (President) received both a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and a Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed her Master's of Science in Nursing at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1980. Terry and her husband Rick have been residents of Kirkland, Washington for more than 30 years where they have raised their 4 children. Terry currently works per diem at the Eastside Endoscopy Center in Bellevue, Washington. Terry is a proud and active member of (EWIB).

Sandy Eacker (Vice President) holds an MFA in Creative Writing and is a professional book discussion facilitator. She is a former English instructor at Bellevue Community College in Bellevue, Washington. She and her husband Dick are parents of two grown sons, Michael (25) and Stephen (32).

Lynn Colella (Treasurer) is Rick's sister and Brian's aunt. Lynn resides in Redmond Washington is a mother of 4 grown children and one granddaughter. She is active in the University Presbyterian Church and volunteers for the Girl Scouts organization. Her passion is soccer - she is a player and great fan of the Sounders team. Lynn won the silver medal at the Olympics in 1972 in the butterfly.

Susan Braun (Secretary) is a research nurse at the Pediatric Clinical Research Center at Children’s Hospital & Regional Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. She is certified by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP) and has worked in the field of research since 1996. She received her bachelors of science in Nursing from the University of Evansville in Evansville, Indiana. Susan and her husband John live in Kirkland, Washington.

Brian Colella (2005 Event Chairman and Board Member) is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin — Madison class of 2009. He was diagnosed with FSHD in the fall of 2003 and chaired the first "FiSHing for a Cure" auction as part of his high school senior year culminating project. Brian taught English in South Korea for two years and is currently an intern copy editor at the Seattle Metropolitan Magazine.

Rick Colella (Board Member) is Brian's father. Rick has worked for the Boeing Company for the past 30 years after graduating with both a degree in Aeronautical Engineering and a Masters in Business from the University of Washington- Seattle. Rick was a 1972 and 1976 Olympian, winning a bronze medal in 200m breaststroke for the United States in the 1976 Olympics. To read more about Rick, see this Swimming World article.

Diane Cook (Board Member) received her bachelors of science in Physical Therapy from the University of Wisconsin –Madison and has practiced in the Seattle area for over 20 years including nearly 10 years at the University of Washington Sports Medicine Clinic. She has volunteered for numerous organizations including Northwest Girlchoir and the Parents Association at Lakeside School. Diane resides in Seattle with her husband Jerry.

Lynn Fischer (Board Member) received her bachelors of science degree from The Evergreen State College. She has worked in the software industry for the State of Washington, Microrim and Microsoft. Board positions have included the PACE program in the Northshore School District, Woodinville Girl Scouts, and various PTA boards. She has been working with Friends of FSH Research since 2007.

Judy Marantz-Herzberg (Board Member) taught elementary school before raising her two children. She recently completed her masters in social work degree at Portland State University. Judy's husband, Bill, and son, Harry, both have FSHD. The Herzberg family has been involved in fundraising with Friends of FSH Research since it began.
