Dr. Hiramuki received his PhD from Kyoto University with Dr. Atsuko Sehara in 2015. He then moved to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle where he worked as a postdoctoral research fellow with Dr. Stephen Tapscott on the structure and function of SMCHD1. To be further engaged in FSHD research, in 2018 he joined the Peter and Takako Jones lab where he is working on novel mouse models of DUX4 regulation.
